g2ipmsg software package provides IP messenger clone for GNOME2 environments, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install g2ipmsg
g2ipmsg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the g2ipmsg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep g2ipmsg *
You will get with g2ipmsg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
